Get to know us

Our Story How it all started...

Jeremy Cox and Brian Parker founded Cox Parker Contractors with a mindset to “do things the right way” for both their clients and their company. Throughout their careers both aspired to work for a different kind of construction company and, after working together for several years they decided to make it happen. Cox Parker Contractors was founded on honesty, transparency and innovation. Jeremy and Brian have a likeminded approach to the construction business, but they also have complementary skillsets. Both Jeremy and Brian have worked in all aspects of the construction industry, with Jeremy’s background primarily being in construction operations, and Brian’s background primarily being in Business Development and Preconstruction. When combined there are over 30 years of industry knowledge, expertise, and relationships. Our objective is to provide intelligent building solutions that align with our client’s needs and expectations. To accomplish this, we will act with integrity, honor our commitments, and provide service that makes our clients know they made the right choice. Throughout the life of your project with Cox Parker Contractors you will be in contact with both owners. This provides each client with direct access to a key decision maker responsible for costs, timelines, and quality.

We understand that each project and each owner’s goals are unique, and we work to ensure that our preconstruction services are used where they are optimized for the customer’s needs. During preconstruction, we are responsible for providing accurate cost and schedule evaluations and establish a plan for a successful project.  Our services can be implemented at any stage of our client’s construction process –site investigation, conceptual design and budgeting, program development, master planning, collaboration with a client’s design team or after completion of design with final pricing.  We drive value at every stage of the preconstruction process, knowing that the success of your project is largely reliant upon a successful preconstruction approach and process.  If we see a better way to do something, we will say it and show you.

We want to work with our clients as early as possible and by using the design build delivery method, we’re offered that opportunity. During design build,  you will have single point of contact throughout strategic planning, conceptual design, budgeting, permit planning, advanced design and subcontractor pricing.  We are able to establish a realistic construction cost before advanced design takes place and drive design throughout the process with an established budget.

We stress transparency and open communication throughout our entire design build process to ensure every team member knows exactly what is happening at each step of the way. At the beginning of each design build project, we outline a detailed and realistic design and construction plan to provide accountability for all team members. 

Design build offers many distinct advantages, of which likely the most important is increased speed to construction. We start our process by understanding when you would like your project to be completed and work backwards to establish a timeline of design and construction.

Jeremy Cox

Jeremy Cox is a founding member of Cox Parker Contractors, LLC and is responsible for the construction operations of the company.

Jeremy was born and raised in Old Metairie, LA. He graduated from Jesuit High School in New Orleans in 2006 and Louisiana State University in 2011 with a degree in Construction Management.  Throughout his high school years Jeremy had dreams of practicing medicine but a series of circumstances landed him in the construction department at LSU.  During high school and college, he worked through summer and winter breaks for his best friend’s residential electrical company where Jeremy gained real-world experience and learned the value of working with his hands; this is when he knew he could find a way to make construction his profession. 

After graduating from LSU, Jeremy returned to New Orleans to start his career in the commercial construction market.  He spent the next decade working across all aspects and types of construction – from project management and on-site supervision to preconstruction project management and coordinating design teams for design build projects.  Jeremy has managed projects ranging from $50,000 to $40,000,000, including several Design-Build projects.  Some of the more notable projects Jeremy has worked on include St. Anthony’s Gardens Retirement Community, Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, M.S. Rau Antiques Expansion and American Factory Direct in Lafayette, LA. 

Jeremy, his wife Laine, and their three children, Charlie, Grace, and James reside in Mandeville, LA.  He is an avid runner and coaches his kid’s teams at Mandeville Soccer Club. Laine is a NASM-Certified personal trainer at Pelican Athletic Club and works in the finance department at St. Timothy’s United Methodist Church, all the while managing the family schedule. 

Brian Parker

Brian Parker is a founding member of Cox Parker Contractors, LLC and is responsible for the preconstruction and business development operations of the company.

Brian was born in Minden, LA and raised in Alexandria, LA. He graduated from Holy Savior Menard Central High School in Alexandria in 1995 and Louisiana State University in 2000 with a degree in Construction Management.  During his high school summers, Brian worked at his father’s building materials business in Pineville, LA which provided him with a general knowledge of residential and light commercial construction.  Brian set off for college intending to follow in his father’s footsteps as an accountant, but he was introduced to the construction management curriculum and never looked back.

After graduating from LSU, Brian started his career working as an estimator and project manager for a national concrete formwork company based in their Metairie office. In 2011 he transitioned to general contracting where he has mainly focused on the preconstruction side of the business including estimating and business development.  Some of the more notable projects in Brian’s portfolio include Caribe and Turquoise Place both in Orange Beach, AL, Bodet Place I, and the FMT Office Building.

Brian, his wife Kay, and their two children, Paxton and Payton reside in Mandeville, LA.  He is an ambitious DIY handyman and coaches his kid’s teams at Mandeville Soccer Club. Kay is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and the owner of Parker Speech and Language Therapy in Covington, LA.
